IT Systems Analyst

We are currently seeking an IT Systems Analyst.

As an UrtheCast IT Systems Analyst, you will be working with a team supporting MAC, Windows and Linux environments. In addition, you will be responsible for the day-to-day hands-on support and the administration of the company’s critical infrastructure in and on premises. This position will design, implement, troubleshoot, analyze, and manage all aspects of server administration, networking, telephony, and infrastructure. This role will also provide on-the-fly training to users, as well as maintain all issues to meet our Service Level Agreement. The IT Systems Analyst will also be included with On-call duties to support the business outside of regular office hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Act as an initial point of contact for IT related tickets
  • Coordinate with vendors to order parts and supplies
  • Generate documentation of existing processes and systems
  • Install and maintain the internal infrastructure of all offices
  • Support Windows, Macintosh and Linux environments
  • Interact with vendors and submit purchase orders
  • Maintain complex network environments and concepts including multi-site VPN's and remote access VPN’s
  • Implement and troubleshoot desktop computer applications
  • Work in a team environment and document operations and solutions
  • Train non-technical individuals on the use of software applications or technical concepts
  • Communicate effectively, manage and escalate issues
  • Deliver clear and concise support documentation, identify areas of inefficiency and recommend changes
  • Maintain and test the technical disaster recovery plans; including working with the business to identify the appropriate levels of risk to ensure the Disaster Recovery Plan is kept current with the continuously evolving technical environment
  • Assist the Infrastructure Architect in designing and implementing of new systems
  • Research new technology and recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations
  • Maintain, update and troubleshoot core business applications
  • Provide maintenance of internal IT hardware
  • Mature the company’s infrastructure from a reactive to a proactive state; ensuring the development and accuracy of documentation for support and operating processes related to the technical infrastructure
  • Participating in on-call rotation for after-hours and emergencies
  • May require travel to remote offices

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma or Bachelors degree in computer science, network administration, system administration or related field
  • One or more Industry IT vendor certifications such as MCSA, VMware, CCNA, ACSP, ACTC
  • 5 years’ experience implementing and troubleshooting both Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Local Area Networks (LAN)
  • In-depth technical experience working with and troubleshooting desktop operating systems, PC/MAC hardware, server hardware and desktop software applications
  • In-depth experience of IT standards, concepts, best practices, and procedures

Bonus:

  • Strong understanding of managing Mac OSX in a Windows environment
  • Strong command-line experience
  • Recent experience in IT integration acquisition/merger
  • Programming and scripting skills
  • Experience with SOX or DFATD compliance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

  • Advanced troubleshooting for all types of technical service requests and issues involving computers, network, all smartphones/ tablets, AV systems, enterprise applications/ systems
  • Proficient with both MAC, Linux and all Windows operating system software and hardware
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, VirtualBox or HyperV
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows Active Directory
  • Customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Ability to interface confidently with executive and internal customers
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and resources
